ORIGIN

THE AUTHENTIC TEJERINGO

Although we don’t know for sure where churros come from, the most likely theory is that they were born in the Arab world, which would make sense, given the deep mark that this culture left on Andalusia. The origin of the term ‘tejeringo’ is also unclear, but some say that they are so called because of the shape of the mould, which resembles a syringe.

When we created Tejeringo’s Coffee, the idea was to emulate the familiarity of the churrerías of yesteryear but giving it a slightly more modern touch.

We know that our customers understand quality and good workmanship, but at the same time they yearn for the flavours of their childhood. And that’s the key to it all: keeping the old as new.

At Tejeringo’s Coffee, our mission is to bring the authentic taste of traditional churros into a modern café experience. While the exact origin of churros remains a mystery, the most accepted theory traces them back to the Arab world, reflecting the cultural influences that shaped Andalusia. The term “tejeringo” is thought to come from the shape of the churro mould, which resembles a syringe, giving this delicious treat its unique name.

Our story began with a simple idea: to recreate the warmth and familiarity of old-fashioned churrerías, but with a contemporary twist. We wanted a space where people could enjoy high-quality churros and coffee while reconnecting with the flavours and memories of their childhood. This delicate balance—honouring tradition while embracing modernity—is at the heart of everything we do.

At Tejeringo’s Coffee, we understand that experiences are as important as the products we serve. Every cup of coffee and every churro we make is part of a larger experience of connection. We aim to create a welcoming space where friends, families, and even strangers can gather, share stories, and enjoy quality moments together.

Passion drives us every day. From perfecting our churro recipes to crafting the ideal coffee blend, we are committed to continuous improvement. Our team thrives on creativity, attention to detail, and the joy of sharing our love for food and coffee with every visitor.

Ultimately, Tejeringo’s Coffee is more than a café; it’s a place where tradition meets innovation, and where every visit becomes a memorable experience. We invite you to taste, connect, and rediscover the authentic spirit of churros in a space that feels like home.
